"We fall, we get up. We lose, but we gain something in return. We love, in spite of the risk. So much of life is conquering fear to reach the gifts that lie on the other side."

I write inspirational fiction. Having grown up loving westerns, the stories I write are clean, feel-good, Americana.

My first two books are set in the post-Civil War years and my third is a modern-day story of a woman facing the unexpected with the help of a man who’s been dead for 30 years and the small-town sheriff who buried him. I feature redemptive characters who face their struggles bravely.

My goal is to weave a tapestry of stories connected to a fictional Tennessee county called Marston with intersecting threads of place and family lines. Come go with me!

"'There is a spirit in every home that meets us at the door.'
Sometimes it's waiting on the porch."

For the past 20 years I’ve taught students in the College of Business at Lipscomb University to sharpen their writing, presentation, job search and relationship skills in my Business Communication, Mentorship, Servant Leadership, and Women in Business classes.

A story begins with a disruption to the heroine’s daily life—a major disturbance in the balance of things that throws her off her footing and sets her on her rump."

A few years ago I started a podcast called Gladness & Hunger where I interview guests to mine the magic of their vocational stories. It’s a great blending of my own vocational pursuits.

You see, I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. I felt like God had given me the eyes, the ears, and the heart for it, but I lacked practical business savvy to know how to make it a reality.

Teaching students in a business college for 20 years has helped me gain important insights and continues to fuel my passion for equipping others. Let me inspire and equip you, too.
